Social Visit Pass (for tourist)

Who is it for?
Social visitors in Singapore as a tourist or for social purposes, and who require a longer period of stay beyond the Visit Pass granted on entry into Singapore

Can you work with this Pass alone?
No.

Landing Pass

Who is it for?
Any passenger travelling in, or any member of the crew of, any vessel, aircraft or train on arrival in any port, authorised airport or authorised train checkpoint in Singapore

Can you work with this Pass alone?
Yes, only for the crew member of the vessel stipulated in the landing pass

Student’s Pass (STP)

Who is it for?
Foreigners accepted by an educational institution to pursue full-time studies in Singapore

Can you work with this Pass alone?
Generally, no. STP holders are only allowed to work if they meet specific requirements.

Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) (Issued by ICA)

Who is it for?
Foreign Spouses & Other Family Members of Singaporeans and Permanent Residents Parents accompanying a child studying in Singapore

Can you work with this Pass alone?
No. You need to obtain a letter of consent (LOC) or work pass from MOM

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) (Issued by ICA)

Who is it for?
Eligible Foreign Spouses of Singaporeans

Can you work with this Pass alone?
No. You need to obtain a letter of consent (LOC) or work pass from MOM

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+)

From 1 April 2012, the LTVP+ provides foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens with greater certainty of stay here by granting the holder a longer period of residency. LTVP+ holders will be eligible for healthcare and employment benefits.

There is no separate application for LTVP+. Foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens who submit applications for LTVP would automatically be considered for LTVP+ if they are eligible. All applications for a Visit Pass are assessed on their own merits and are subject to approval.

LTVP+ holders who wish to work should apply for a letter of consent.

Longer period of residency

  • LTVP+ provides foreign spouses of Singapore citizen who qualify, with greater certainty of stay in Singapore by granting the holder a longer period of residency – 3 years and up to 5 years for subsequent renewals.

Healthcare benefits

  • LTVP+ holders will enjoy healthcare subsidies for inpatient services at restructured hospitals, at a level close that for Permanent Residents.  

Employment benefits

  • It is easier for LTVP+ holders to seek work, as prospective employers only need to apply for a Letter of Consent (LOC) from MOM, instead of a work pass
  • LTVP+ holders who are issued with LOCs will not be counted against the foreign worker quota of their employers. Their employers are also not required to pay foreign workers’ levy for them

Parents accompanying a child studying in Singapore

  • LTVP holders accompanying a child who is studying in Singapore, are not allowed to work during their first year here
  • This is to encourage them to spend more time with their child and help him or her adjust to Singapore's education system

Dependant’s Pass and LTVP issued by MOM

  • Legally married spouse or unmarried children under 21 years of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders can also apply for Dependant’s Pass
  • Common-law spouse, step-child, handicapped child and parents of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders can also apply for LTVP
  • Applications by such individuals will be processed by the Ministry of Manpower instead.
